Why would an interior designer want to learn 3D rendering?

Whenever I mention 3d rendering to interior designers they always ask: Why would I waste my time learning how to render when I can outsource it?
Here are the top reasons why:
Above all, it can be part of the creative process. I use rendering as part of my iterative design process, showing my clients how an interior might look and helping them make an informed choice.
It is part of improving the client experience. Have you ever had a client be overwhelmed with choices to the point where they can’t make a decision? Or do you have a fabulous idea but the client is unconvinced? Showing them a 3d render can help! They are much happier with their final choice and they are clear about the design that you have made just for them. Let them build an emotional connection to your design
Need to show off your skills? You might be a designer just starting out or looking for work in a particular niche. Let your imagination run free and show your clients what you’ve got.
Need content for your insta or website? You can create as many images as you like, changing colours and materials, giving your images completely different looks. You can easily create videos for your stories and reels. These video-based posts gain much more attention on Instagram.
You can develop your skills and be ahead of the curve and do something that most interior designers can’t do.
Create a new stream of income, create imagery for other designers and charge your clients for images. Many clients are happy to pay for renders as it helps them make informed choices.
It’s fun! 3d rendering is a lot like photography. In fact, if you love taking photos you will love rendering. The principles are similar, except you will be taking photos with your computer and not with a camera
