OUR DESIGNER FOR A DAY EXPERIENCE
Would you like to engage an interior designer, but want to keep an active role in the design process? Worried about how much design services might cost and if a designer is able to work with your budget and timeline? Concerned about making expensive mistakes?
With Designer for a Day, youβll experience a bespoke design service for the space in your home that is giving you headaches. During this βDayβ I will discuss your vision and needs and complete a comprehensive and detailed design plan that you are able to confidently implement as your schedule and budget allow.
Our Process
In Person
If you are located in the Shoalhaven or Illawarra from Wollongong to Nowra or in the Southern Highlands, I will be able to complete this interior design service in person. After you have filled out the online interior design discovery form, I will visit your home and take detailed measurements of your space.
Virtual
If you are located outside of these areas, I am still able to help you with your design! We will complete the survey virtually. I will send you detailed video instructions of how to measure your space. Then the design planning begins!
Step One: research
Communication is the key to good design! Before your in-person or zoom session, youβll complete an online design discovery form. This form will help you focus on your goals, priorities and challenges. We will also try to discover some style elements that you love so that we can incorporate this into your design.
We will give you access to an online project portal where we will review your inspiration images and images of your existing home. This is also where we centralize communication about your project so that you have a birds-eye view of where your project is heading.
For virtual design sessions, youβll receive video instructions on how to measure your space or you can send us your existing plans.
Step Two: Design Session
Whether virtually or in person, youβll spend up to 2 hours with me in your home (if virtually this is done via Zoom). During this time we will start your design in order of priority.
You may want to tackle specific design challenges such as floor planning, or custom designing cabinets or you may have a broader approach- making your home look more cohesive rather than rooms that have no design relationship with each other.
Once we have completed this session, I will take all that I have learned and prepare your design in my studio. I will source samples, materials, furniture, fixtures and fittings that will suit the design.
Step Three: the design
Between 2 to 4 weeks after your session, depending on the scope of your design, you will receive your final design presentation. This will include a floor plan of your room if needed, a style board that will show the finished design, and a schedule showing specific items that suit your budget. This will be presented to you virtually where I will explain the reasoning behind my choices.
All documentation, images and links to items will be uploaded onto your client portal so you will be able to access suppliers and place orders.
You will be able to confidently purchase these items, in consultation with the trades you have hired without making expensive mistakes.
Step Four: Design Support
After your session, you will be able to contact me if you have any specific questions about suppliers or sourcing. I am always happy to help.
