Why hire an interior designer?

5 reasons why an interior designer is necessary and can save you time and money

Reason 1

You don’t know what you don’t know. This is sage advice. Clients usually approach me with some great ideas about how they want their space to look and feel. However, when we get into the minutiae of designing, it is my job to point out the finer considerations of some of those ideas. They may need refinement or they may be completely impractical. We have spent years refining our skills and helping clients take those ideas and translate them into functional spaces that also look great.

Reason 2

A designer can help you save time. We spend our days visiting showrooms, checking out the best deals and creating relationships which mean that we can help you expedite your designs. Skills in project management also help ensure that projects are completed on time and on budget.

Reason 3

A designer can help you save money. Apart from the sales discounts which can save clients thousands, designers have design skills and tips that can help you achieve the look you want as cost-effectively as possible. No matter how large your budget, everyone would agree that they would like to spend as as little as possible to achieve the desired look.

Reason 4

Smooth running of a project. One of the biggest advantages of an interior designer is that you have someone available to help you with management of your project. They can help you with ordering fittings and fixtures and help you ensure that they arrive in a timely way. They can advise you if things go wrong. They may be able to source alternatives or help you deal with unforseen details that need resolution.

Reason 5

They add aesthetic flair. You can always notice when an interior designer has had a hand in a space. There is something about the details, the combination of colours, textures and materials that differentiates a professional designed interior. Considerations of lines, connections, use of bolder colours and transitions of material are always apparent.
