Sources- Lo & Co

I have been looking for door hardware at all the usual places: Mother of Pearl, Keeler Hardware, Stylefinish etc - all suppliers I have used for years. In Hong Kong, I primarily used unbranded hardware, Buster and Punch or designed my own. I also use MadeMeasure for my leather handles that I used in my own country house.

I was googling to see if there was anything new and came across Lo & Co's product imagery. Clicking on the link, I was taken to their beautiful site and got a lot more than I bargained for. The products were really beautiful and I was taken with designs and also the price. Being a believer in the old adage 'you get what you pay for', I was slightly suspicious that the quality could be lacking.

I made a mental note to follow up with the products and perhaps do a small order to test the quality. But fate extended its hand!

Driving along last week in Woollahra, I passed the Lo & Co showroom at

9/83 Moncur St Woollahra and I stopped in my tracks! I had been driving around for ages looking for a car space when, lo (pardon the pun) and behold, I found a park right outside. The store is lined with Venetian plaster creating a soft & warm backdrop.

I had a talk with a very knowledgeable person who was later introduced to me as the owner and designer, Arielle Lopresti (the Lo). The products are designed by them and manufactured in China. Unfortunately, so of the stock is very low so we will have to work quickly to get the order in as soon as we have some more detailed plans. They don't have models that can be dropped into 3D designs so I will have to recreate them once I have decided which products I want to use.

There are quite a number of products to choose from. Some of the entry handles are quite similar to Buster and Punch's products- but without the hefty weight, however, the weight is still very robust and so long as the internal workings are fine, then they should be okay. The price includes the latches so the cost per door handle is relatively low. Usually, you have to buy the latch mechanism separately.

I'm quite liking this Linear door handle .

I like the knurled finish on the handle . It increased the handles grip and was nice to hold.

I'm also liking this Isla door pull. I did buy a sample and the weight is pleasingly heavy.

You may want to note that these products are made of solid brass. They will discolour over time and some lacquer may rub off. However, I think that this only adds to their good looks! A bit of patina always adds a certain distinction.

Anyway - if you are in Sydney check out the new Lo & Co Showroom- it's worth a visit
