Joinery /Millwork door choices for period details
There are many types of designs that you can use for cabinetry.
There are a few things that you need to consider:
The timber trim that surrrounds the door- the styles of the baseboards/skirting, architraves and cornices. Think about them balancing each other. If you have a detailed baseboard- one that is suited to a period home, consider detailing the door to carry through.
Here’s another one by Sydney designer, Tamsin Johnson. Note the detail in the panelling is balanced by the details in the doors. She adds a bit more detail in the doors by chamfering the panels rather than continuing the rectangular shape of the walls. A very self- assured interior.
